The Dominican Republic is 50 thousand square kilometers (to better understand, it is twice the size of Sicily) and has 6 international airports located throughout the island.
The south-west of the island is the least touristic and the worst served. The Dominican Republic has great interest in the development of tourism , thus always bettering it’s services.

Las Americas Airport in Santo Domingo (the capital)
The airport of Las Americas is without doubt the most important ,it has the most daily flights to various destinations from the United States , South America and Europe and is located south of the island .
Pop Gregorio Luperon airport of Puerto Plata
This is the second most important airport of the island and also has flights to and from the United States and Europe and is located in the north.
Sti Cibao airport of Santiago de Caballeros
This is another international airport serving only North, Central and South America and is located in the central-north part of the island.
LRM La Romana Airport
This airport was built especially for charter flights only (organized tours), it is located precisely in the south-east of the Dominican Republic, the area with the most resorts (Baiahibe), and has no regular airline flights.
PUJ Punta Cana Airport
This airport is located on the east side of the island and also has only charter flights to bring tourists to the resorts of Punta Cana and Bavaro.
Airport Samana El Catey
This airport is situated in the north-east of the island and even here there are only charter flights to and from Europe and the United States, but not all year round .
